I was diagnosed with hpv in 1997. At that time, I had some warts removed and a leep procedure done to remove some abnormal cells on my cervix. Since then I have had 1 slightly abnormal pap that really turned out to be nothing and no reoccurring warts. It has now been 11 years and my husband and I are trying to conceive. Because I have the hpv virus in my system, will it automatically come back because of the hormone levels during pregnancy? Or can woman with hpv be pregnant and not have any reoccurring breakouts? It has been so long since the last time I had any problems, I was hoping beyond hope that maybe it has somehow left my body?!?!?!

I'm not an expert or anything, but from all the information I've read. It's very possible that the virus has left, due to your body taking care of itself and doing what it's supposed to do, if it's been a while since you've had any breakouts (or whatever the term is). But the more important question is, when is the last time you have been tested for hpv? I suggest getting the test again, and talking to your doctor about your upcoming plans. best of luck to you!
