Hi, I was thinking about going off birth control because my libido has gotten so low i cant stand it anymore! Anyway, I was doing some research online and found the lady comp and then i found a smaller almost hand held lady comp called pearly. I am wondering, has anyone used this before? Is it hard to use? I was looking up the instruction booklet online and it was just kind of confusing. I dont know if it was just the start up or what. I would like to try it. I dont want to just go off birth control and not feel safe. My boyfriend an I will be using condoms I just want to feel reassured that i am being safe here. Let me know if you guys know anything about either of those really...

Hi there! I have the lady comp and I like it although i'm not sure it was really worth how much I paid for it. It was really kind of just a glorified thermometer but I like that it kept a record of my temps so I didn't have to remember to track them myself all the time. I used it for a little over a year and did not get pregnant. The only reason I went back on the pill was due to PCOS. When I used the lady comp, i'd also watch for other signs that I was ovulating and played it REALLY safe because I discovered I have irregular cycles so i'm not a very good candidate for using the lady comp but I could see it being a great little device for women who have very regular cycles!
Anyway, it is really easy to use after you read the directions and it does give you peace of mind.
I actually just started using mine now again because we are TTC so it has multiple uses!
If you don't want to put out the money, though, i'd suggest you just buy the book "taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler and track your temps/cycles yourself and it's just as effective. Just slightly more time consuming. Actually, even if you buy the Pearly, I STILL suggest you get the book!

Well i decided to order the pearly and see how it goes. I mean im just using it along with condoms so i guess it doesnt hurt. Then if i like it then maybe i will consider stepping it up to the lady comp. It seems a lot more people have the lady comp. I wonder why that is....
