View Full Version : No more weather headaches after car accident

I was in a car accident back in mid 2004 and ended up having an artery on the left side of my forehead severed (it was later stitched, of course). From that day on I have yet to have any type of weather headache! I had suffered with them for my entire life up until that point, having days where I could hardly think straight. It's been almost 4 years and I've yet to have one single weather headache. As a matter of fact, the only time I ever get headaches is after a night of drinking, but that's about it. So I believe that the artery that was severed is what got rid of my headaches, for good (knock on wood). I'd be interested to hear if there has been any research on headaches, specifically dealing with the artery in the left side of my forehead. The artery is right straight up from the outside edge of my left eye, and right in the middle between my hairline and my eyebrow.

Did any doctor ever give a possible reason why that procedure might have helped the headaches? My son gets weather induded migraines. This lastest cycle has lasted 6 weeks.

I have never been back to the doctor to let him know that my weather headaches completely disappeared. I had gone back in to get the stitches removed, but that was the last time I spoke with the doctor. I've thought about going back to talk with the doctor that stitched me up, but I rarely have time between work and school. My only thought is that the scar tissue that formed may keep that artery from expanding and contracting, which is usually the reason for weather headaches. I may try and get into the doctors in the next month just to mention that my weather headaches disappeared and see what they have to say about it -if I can find the time. I'll post a reply again after I've been to the doctors.
