I was recently tested for all STD's because I came into contact with someone who had clymidia. Doctor treted me with an antibiotic as a precaution since it would take time for labs to return back All tests (labs and cultures) came back negative except that I was told that I tested positive for Herpes type 1 and 2 antibodies in my blood stream. I had been tested for this and others in the past and results were always negative. My doctor said that I may have had this for years and not known. I also questioned if results could be an error. She said that it could be a lab error but very uncommom since I tested positve for both. I explained that I am 39 years old and never have had a cold sore or any type of genital sore. Is that common???? My husband with whom I had been separated with for few years has also been completely tested for STD's since wev'e began to work on reconciliation, only tested positive for Clymidia and has been treated (FYI-reason I even went to doctor in the first place). What is recommended next???? Thanking you in advance for your antipated assistance.
