so im new here... im a 30 yr old woman who's had hsv-2 since '04, and i take 500mg of valtrex every day - religiously. i just started dating a guy who has polycystic kidney disease. we haven't had sex yet because of his and my conditions. i dont want to put him in any danger or make his condition worse by having sex with him. ive googled both topics and can't find any info on them... can anyone tell me anything?

I am not sure how much help I will be--but I have both.. PKD and HSV2. My doctor has not said one thing about the two being related in any way, nor do I feel that HSV has made my PKD any worse.
I really dont think that you would affect his PKD in any way.

thanks for the response...has your doctor ever said anything about what would happen if you need a transplant? would there be complications from the meds?
