Hi.

I am currently taking Aviane, the generic form of Alesse.

I take it every day at 8 pm. But in a week I will be going to Florida. I still want to take it at the same time when I get there. But Florida is 3 hours ahead of California time.

I was wondering if I can take it 20 minutes earlier each night and by the time I get to Florida, it will be around 8:00 eastern time.

I remember the doctor at Planned Parenthood saying that as long as it is not more than an hour difference, it should be fine.

Will there be any side effects if I take it 20 minutes earlier each day for 7 days?

Everybody's different, but I've done that sort of thing before and had no problems. You should be okay unless you are particularly sensitive to the balance of hormones.

I was on that brand for about a yr and always took it within a 3 hr time difference usually in the evening when ever I remembered like after dinner...I would just take it at like 9pm Fl time once you get there.

Taking it a little earlier would be fine, just not LATER. I've done this before with no problems. Most pills are actually okay to take within a several hour window, but I wouldn't chance it just in case. This is true only for combination pills, but non-combination pills really need to be taken at the same time.

When traveling, I just add or subtract the hours of difference in time and take it at my usual time.

Since 8:00pm California time means 11:00pm Florida time, you can always just take your pill at 11pm while in Florida and then you won't be changing anything. However, if you think it will be too hard for you to remember, you can always do as you said. You will just have to take it at an earlier time when you get back as well and will be taking your pill at 5pm when you get back home instead.
