Anyone have good/bad experience when going off of birth control? I am finishing a pack this week and want to stop. I have been on them for over 10 years and my husband and I would like to become pregnant within the next year. I want to see if my migraines will go away also. I have heard some horror stories about the emotional transition of going off. I am also worried about my cramps coming back, as they were really horrible before. Just wanted to see if anyone had side effects from coming off of the pill....

I was on yasmin for about 4 years. I went off of it about 3-4 months ago. Yasmin never made me emotional so I didn't notice any emotional side effects or changes when I went off of it. The only thing I noticed was occasional waves of nausea and light headedness. Considering you've been on it for so long it might take a while for your body to get used to not being on them.

I just came off of bc a couple of months ago. I was on them for 17 years straight. The only problems i had were mild headaches for a week and i have an increase in acne, but not bad. I think that will level out as my body adjusts. Periods arn't quit normal yet, but i think they will be.

Headachs and acne are what i read on another site as being the most reported side effects.
