Something weird has happened a couple times to me while and just after I sleep. I have a history of migraines and I am on 125 mg of topamax to try to control them, although it does not work very well. My first very bad migraine episode lasted over a week and about 4 days in I started seeing flashing lights and having moments where I felt completely paralyzed, although I was aware of what was going on around me. A few nights ago I had a vivid dream about an animal boring into my head and I was shaking really bad, needless to say I woke up with a horrible headache, but I was still shaking really bad. A couple of nights ago I also had a really vivid dream where I was levitating in a room (weird, i know, but they are dreams) and then I fell back on to a bed where my friend was laying. I started shaking uncontrollably and could not speak and was trying to signal his attention but I couldnt. I woke up and I was still shaking uncontrollably and could not speak and slipped in and out of sleep, i guess. I do not remember it all that well. I woke up in the morning with another bad headache. My question is are these seizures? I have never had one, but I do see a neurologist. My next appointment isnt until late July, but should I make one sooner? If they are seizures, that is ver scary. Can seizures just occur during the night and do they have anything to do with the migraines. I have had countless imaging studies done of my head, but never an EEG, even when I was hospitalized on the neuroscience ward.
any help would be appereciated
i would also add that i have stopped taking paxil recently because of some of the gastrointestinal side effects. everything went smoothly, but could this be a factor? the first episode of the shaking and my migraines have no relation to my stopping the paxil.
