I believe i was exposed to herpes and had unprotected sex how long does it take to show up if you have them?

I'm just a newly diagnosed sufferer. I'm here on this site to talk to others and try and make sense of what's happened to me.

I can't exactly tell you how long the usual wait is because I think it varies for everyone but for me it was about a week and a half before I knew something was up.

Typically after exposure, herpes can show up within 2-21 days, that's what I've read. I believe it takes 3+ months after exposure to show up in a blood test, I think - someone correct me here if I'm wrong........-Ornament

No, I think you're right. Atleast that's along the lines that my Doc told me anyway.:(
