I was dx'd with fibromyalgia a year ago. In Dec 2007, I began having some new symptoms - my left arm or left leg would move involuntarily. I also have muscle spasms in my face, the most annoying of which are the ones I have in the muscles around my left eye, along with blurry vision. I went to my opthamologist, but he said my eyes were fine. He said if it continued for 3 months, I should go back to my neuro. I went back last week. He told me it could be myoclonus and sent me for an MRI to rule out any tumors that may be causing the spasms around my eye. I found out today that the MRI was normal.
Tomorrow I go for an EEG to see if I have any signs of a seizure disorder. I'm wondering if it's possible to have a seizure disorder and have a normal MRI and EEG???
The neuro told me that I might never know why I have myoclonus. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Lisa
