dysplasia and hpv are different things, (from what I understand) but come "hand in hand". I think that HPV causes it. I don't want to give you any wrong information, or ideas though. I guess what I really suggest is just reading up on it. sorry if im no help. best of luck and wishes!

Dysplasia is caused by HPV, so you can assume that you have it. You can also assume your partner has it already too, who knows, maybe even been the one to give it to you (well, someone had to come into the relationship with it). Not sure about if it lasts forever though. Usually the virus becomes inactive after a while, and will do no more damage which is close enough.

Not all cervical dysplasia is a result of HPV. Dysplasia can be a result of other factors such as estrogen/progesterone imbalance. Statistically, (70% or more) HPV is the cause. Obtain a copy of your coploscopy report; it will tell you if the pathologist could see Koilocytes within the cell nucleous--a halo-like appearance which is in essence the calling card of the HPV virus. If this is not present, you may not be dealing with HPV.
