View Full Version : Depth perception?

When I try to cross over something moving, like a conveyor belt I can't tell if the conveyor is moving or not, and also cannot judge how much distance to walk over the moving object. Also, when the escalator is down at work I can't walk up or down it because I can't tell if there are steps or not. The escalator all looks flat to me. Is this my depth perception?

It sounds like faulty depth perception, but you'd think you would notice it at other times also. Remember those posters and pictures that were the rage for awhile? They looked like a lot of lines everywhere until you let your eyes go out of focus, then you could see a 3-D image. Were you able to see those?

It's been years since I had one of those tests. I really can't remember. I was also born with Amblyopia in both of my eyes, I've had surgery on my right eye once and surgery on the left one twice. I wonder if age has anything to do with the Depth. problem? I'm 58.

Was the surgery on the eye muscles? It does sound like you have monocular vision.
