So I had my Mirena IUD removed about 1 month ago and over the last week and a half or so I have been experiencing alot of acne and headaches neither of which I have ever had a problem with.. Could this have anything to do with my IUD removal? It could be stress because I have been under alot of stress but the stress started before I even got the IUD removed and have had no problems until now.. Please help!!!!

Which IUD did you have? Was it a Mirena? Any time you quit hormones, whether it's the pill or shot or IUD or whatever, there's likely going to be some kind of side effects. What you're experiencing sounds pretty much like what I had to go through when I quit taking the pill. I don't think it's anything to worry about, really. You have to expect a certain amount of withdrawal symptoms whenever you start messing around with hormones.

Perhaps it is a combination of hormon changes and stress...?
If you still feel like this for more than a week you should probably talk to your doctor.

I seemed to have had alot of issues while I had the Mirena. Constant nervous feeling in my stomach, acne, and some other rather unpleasant things that were definitely worse while I had the IUD. Mine had actually gotten slightly embedded and I can't help but think my body was reacting to this. My sister had the Mirena as well and had some worsening symptoms. Both of our bodies had to adjust when we had them removed. Anyway, it took a few months for my cycle to be normal again but most of the symptoms went away pretty quickly. My sister is a walking imbalance of hormones so who knows what could have been related to the IUD. We both did feel better once having it removed. The docs will tell that the hormones the Mirena puts out are very small and shouldn't cause problems...I don't agree at all. BUT, if you're under stress and your body is having to adjust to producing it own hormones again I would think that would make ripe conditions for acne. IF your acne is not severe maybe you could try an over the counter regimen that is appropriate for your age. If you're an adult you don't want something for teens...it could make it worse. If your acne is more severe you could have an infection that antibiotics or prescribed topical treatment may help.
I'm learning that zits aren't just for teens...I'm in my early 30's and I break out regularly.
