Although I'm new here I'd like to throw an idea up for thought.... how about a smile for the day? I know that a lot of us are in pain all the time, some a lot more than others and that this can really get you down. I was just thinking that perhaps just a line from anyone each day about something that made us laugh might help lighten things? I know it's hard to smile at times but you just gotta keep on going. if nowt else just 3 smiles a day will count towards your exercise ! anyway i'll be posting my smile for the day on here, so please join me.....

hi poppy,
if i had to quit smiling i would go thru withdrawal. it is my sense of humor about myself that keeps me lauging every day. of course the neighbors know me now and are positive i am a nut. giggle. a good nut.
you have my smile today and every day. here is my good laugh for this morning. how about standing up without using the ole t.p. first, remembering as the warm drips fall, busting out in laughter only to find i had to sit down again fast.
now that's funny fibro fog!
peace and giggles,
blue

Ya know, just comming here to read and feel so welcome would make anyone smile, but especially when we are in an extra hard spot, there's always someone bringing a smattering of joy into your moment. We cheer each other on, we help each other learn, we console one another, and we help each other overcome the fear. I smile EVERY time I come here.:D

Heres where my smile came from. I was getting ready to walk, i usually take our little fat dog when i walk but didnt want to leave her tied in the sun today because i knew i would be at the library. I let all three dogs out to go potty and when i went to let them back in, Roxie the little fat dog wouldnt budge. She was like, oh no, your not going without me ! She was just laying under my Jeep with the most pitiful face on and it did give me a chuckle, so i let the other two dogs back out and let them walk me to the mailbox, that threw her off and all three ran back into the house, bet she is not happy with me today. Hopefully she will get her walk in a little bit :)

I like to smile all the time, keeps everyone guessing what I'm up to! My smile today was watching our little dog Sadie who is now 1yr. old. Our porch is surrounded by three foot high walls (we live in a condo) and Sadie is a little 13lb. schnoodle. The electric company is putting in new cables and are in our driveway and side yard as they ponder the situation (I think they are usually deciding where to go to lunch). Sadie runs out on the porch and being unable to see over the walls runs around the edge with her head up, neck stretched and nose twitching furiously trying to smell what may be going on. It made me giggle, we always want to know what is on the other side.

Great idea Poppy and welcome to the board.

My smile for the day .... have had quite a few forms sent to me lately which needed returning over the next few days so thought i'd get them all out of the way this afternoon. Hate filling in forms at the best of times, let alone when i'm away with the fairies like today- but they needed doing so got stuck in. Decided in my wisdom to fill them all out then check them before licking and sticking the envelopes..... good idea in theory. 3 forms later.... plenty of papercuts and much use of bad language and they were ready for mailing. Decided that my exercise for the day would be to put them in the post so off i toddled.... half an hour later I got back. Made a cuppa and sat down at the table where I'd been doing the forms, then realised that.... yes... i'd licked and sticked the envelopes.... and mailed them.... without sticking the forms in them first.... they're still on the table now ! No prizes for guessing what i'll be doing tomorrow ! :)

Hello,

I have always been a person who smiled all the time. I was always in a good mood. Even if things were going bad I would still smile. Even though I have pain 24/7 I still smile. It's the cheapest thing to do that cost nothing and it just may be the one thing that will make another persons day. I am always smiling and singing! (my voice isn't the best) The singing gives me the energy to do my exercises.

I send you all a smile and I am singing Hit Me with your best shot :)

Well today has been a relatively good day. My car seats are dry, my forms now sent off IN envelopes this time, my bikini out ready for my next swimming session (clever huh!).... feeling really pleased with myself :)
Ok so I've just had a hissy fit with my tv..... a good 5 minutes trying to change channels..... sat stabbing at buttons on the remote, which has been shaken, hit, kissed and talked to at one point and it still wouldnt work. Took my mum less than a second to work out why tho..... it was her mobile phone.
Didn't want to watch tv anyway ! Duhhh:mad::bouncing:

My smile for today, is my 3 yr old son, having the time of his life at a Thomas The Train park in Tavares,Fla today.... He is an absolute Thomas the train finatic ! So while I am here typing away at home w/ a hurting and sore back, my wife and son are just choo-chooing away.....That puts a smile on my face since he hasn't been able to enjoy his childhood since I hurt my back. Hope every1 can manage and try to put a smile on their face today, and I know some won't be able to. That is my 1st in a long time, even though my back won't get better from it... later....MC

My smile for the day is actually quite hilarious! :D

I took my mother in to have her colonoscopy done today and after her procedure they brought me back to the post-op area where everyone was just separated by the sliding curtain. Well, if any of you have any familiarity of how a colonoscopy works, they fill you with quite a bit of air. My mom and I were having a pretty good conversation about fibro, and dinner - she was hungry - and the next thing we know...RRRIIIIIIIIIIIIPPPPP....the guy next to us let one go! LOL

We started snickering so bad both our faces were so red...we were acting like little kids who snicker and say "you farted...haha...". :D

The best part was when the nurse asked if he felt better and he responded with a "YEAAAAAAHHHHH" LOL!!!

gaudet you made me laugh so hard, it brought tears to my eyes. I can barely type I'm laughing that much. What makes it so funny is I have been there and heard that. It is just like you say. Mine was when I took braveman for his colonoscopy and there was a young women and her mother on the other side of the curtain. I kept hearing all the nurses tell the patients that there will be gas in there and if they need to let it out just let it go....some nurses even said fart. I really never did hear anything though. Then they brought this young women and her mother to the area on the other side of the curtain next to me. The two of them were talking and suddenly......RRIPpppppppphhhht.....it came flying. I swear the curtain fluttered and I tried to move a little closer to braveman and of course trying so hard not to laugh and suddenly her mother says...well, oh my, you must feel better! The shock and almost embarrasment in her mothers voice was all I could take. I started holding my face in one hand and pinching my leg with the other. Of course, no one even noticed the routine and the noise in the room just kept going on.

Thanks gaudet!

still laughing here after reading gaudet's post.....reminds me of a job i used to do.... cherma, I've never heard of a Thomas the Train park but I'm jealous ! I wanna ride on one... :) it sounds great and i know my house mate would be jealous.
Well I've definitely had a very forgetful day today. Got up late (no change there) and decided to take the dog for trip to the beach. Put her collar on, put her water bottle in the car then realised i'd forgotten her towel so went back in the house for it. After messing about for a few mins I'm out of the house, door locked and driving towards the beach with the radio on. It was absolutely gorgeous when i got there, tide was going out and there was no-one else there. Great..... until I realised there was one little problem..... A quick call to mum ....... the dog is sat in her basket waiting for you to take her to the beach... Ooooopppppps :o

I don't know the answer to that poppy, but I know what you mean. We are cray....now you see my boo boo trying to spell the word crazy. Our little darling is sitting on the bed behind me and saw someone walking down the street and started barking. Scared the living daylights out of me! As I was saying we are crazy about our little bundle of fur. She is just a year old and already has won our hearts forever. Our pets help us so much, they don't care what we have wrong with us, or if we are having a bad day. All they want is love and in return they give us so much joy and happiness. Unconditional love it is called, who else gets so excited when you come in the door that they pee in the floor!!!!!

Glojer you certainly get me smiling reading about your lil dog. I think that they are truly the ones who understand us the best. They never question us or demand anything, just the occasional walk, cuddle and treat and they're happy. Even when we have dopey days they just give us that look of "oh well never mind" and still come for their hugs. My last few days have all been like that so now i'm starting to feel sorry for her ! Like yesterday when I came down in the morning to get breakfast. Got my bowl of cereal out, started doing other things as you do..... she came in and started whimpering to be fed so not thinking I just put the bowl down for her. It was only later when I was sat having a cuppa and thinking that I really was hungry that i realised my mistake. She wasn't complaining tho ! A bowl of cereal with warm milk.... she must have thought her luck had changed :) At least I hadn't put her food out.... ewwww what a thought

gaudet,

Just read about your experiences in the colonoscopy department, cheered me up no end!
Especially as I’ve had two myself and witnessed the passing of gas on a large scale, fortunately I didn’t get relief until I returned home.

Oh and Poppy thanks for the kind words in your other thread, I can see that spending time here will help me immensely.
