Hi and welcome to the board . what promted your dr. to put you on actenol at such a young age? Were your t-scores in the osteo range? I took actenol for 8 weeks also before deciding it wasn't for me. I've been taking strontium citrate ever since. It's a natural supplement that i order online. I've had no side effects and at the last DEXA is had improvements in both hips and lumbar spine. The perescrition form Strontium Renalte its widely used in Europe and has shown to have good results in both inproved bone density and fewer fractures. Do a search for stronium citrate to find more info. If you have any question please ask. There are several of us here who are taking it who can help. Are you taking extra calcium and vit D, eating a calcium rich diet and getting plenty of exercise..both weight bearing and weight training? There are many things you can do to improve your bones and you're still young so you have time to make these changes.
There is a helpful book you should read if you already haven't..it's called the Myth of Osteoporosis by Gillian Sanson. It's loaded with good info and was very helpful to me when i was first dx. She takes a less than conventional approach so its differnent from other books on the subject. Take care...phyllis

cnohel1979,
I would contact your doctor right away and report the stomach pain. If you want to still take it the doctor can give you medication -ppi's to protect your stomach. I only took 3 Fosamax pills and had burning after the first two hours. I stopped taking it because I didn't want to damage my stomach.
