I was just recently diagnosed with this STD, i have all this resentment towards the man that gave it to me, but im also afraid what my sexual life is going to be like. I find myself afraid im going to give it to whom ever i come in contact with(sexualy). Do these feelings ever go away? Im always worried about it. Does that mean every time i have sex i have to tell them what i have? What is a good place to learn all about this?

Hi Andy28~
Sorry, about your recent diagnosis. But welcome to the board...The resentment is an initial reaction to finding out you have this virus, this will pass with time. I think herpes is most difficult in the beginning both mentally and physically, it's an emotional rollercoaster. This too gets easier with time. Herpes can be quite manageable. Do an online search for Terri Warren and download her info., lots of facts regarding this virus.
Ethically & morally you should tell future partners, that you have herpes, it wouldn't be fair to not tell them. Ask yourself if you could live with the guilt, that you may of infected someone else. Although - that's how most of us contracted this virus, was by not being informed. Something to think about....
Keep in mind - that we're all here for each other, :D -Ornament
