Hello my ten month old has come down with this & I have never seen him more crabby & in pain ever. Has anyone experienced this???? He has what looks like a kanker sore on his tongue. & He has a fever. Docs wont do anything & just say take tyl & recomended some meds for this type of sore. He has been throwing up as well. Not sure if its from the meds or fever or ttething or a combination of these things... How long did it take to go away for your child?? Passover is this weekend & I would hate for him to miss his first passover experience with my family but I dont want anyone to get it either.... Awaiting your comments...

My DS got this when he was 4 months old. It was horrible! He cried himself hoarse and refused to eat (nurse or from bottle) for almost 2 days. The good news is that the first two days are the worst. He improved pretty rapidly after that, although the blisters stuck around for a bit. He actually gave it to me, so I can tell you that it's a pretty nasty illness. I was miserable, so I can understand why he cried so much! It's a viral illness, so antibiotics aren't effective. That's why the doctor won't give you anything. We gave our DS tylenol and motrin the first couple of days, but other than that, it basically just has to run its course.
