I've been having pain in my left side, back, and now groin area, and was diagnosed on Monday with a Urinary Tract Infection. The results of the urine test haven't come back yet, but I'm on my third day of antibiotics, and am still in pain. Shouldn't the pain be gone now that I've been on antibiotics for so many days? It's starting to hurt on my right side also, where it didn't hurt at all before. Last night it was bad enough that I couldn't get comfortable and had to take an Advil for the pain. Today it's not so bad, but it's there.
I'm just wondering if it's maybe something else other than an infection if the pain isn't gone by now.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Unless they gave you an injection also, 2-3 days is about right to see some improvement. Have you tried drinking cranberry juice as well?

Thanks.
Since today is the third day, I'll wait until tomorrow morning to see if I feel any better.
I did drink a lot of cranberry juice on Monday, but I'll have to get some more.

As long as it doesn't get worse...takes up to 72hrs sometimes for antibiotic to kick in but might take longer for pain to subside as it takes time for infection to clear. Just takes time and take whatever you have to stop the pain.

Thanks!
I just called the doctor's office to find out my test results, and they were negative. No infection. so... I'm going to start a new thread...
