In the middle of March, I went to a strip club and and had a private dance with a dancer. She basically doubles as a prostitute I later find out and while I was getting my dance I fingered her for several minutes. The problem I have is that I had 3 or 4 small cuts near my cuticle on one of the fingers inside her. They are the kind of cuts you get when you get a hangnail...just a small piece of skin sort of hanging off but definately exposed underneath.
Anyways, 2 weeks later I went and got tested because I was losing my mind and it came back negative. A week after that I developed a cough and head and chest congestion which has lasted 3 weeks now. I had a fever and swollen neck nodes for about a day and I had three small pimples on my arm bunched together that were gone in a few days. I also developed a cankor on my tongue for 3 days. Now as I see what other people are going through on this board, I am too. I cant sleep, eat and the chest cold and coughing is a daily reminder of what could be.
I have never seen any questions regarding the possible risk of HIV this way so I was hoping someone could shed some light. I will be getting tested again in a few weeks but have seen posts that say the test I took after 2 weeks is completely useless....is that true...does that mean that no one can test positive after 2 weeks?
Any advice or info is appreciated and to all who are going through this take care of yourself and to all who have tested positive hang in there and good luck and you inspire many on thisboard.

You need to test at 3 months. Then it's more likely what it is, positive or negative. At 6 months is your definite answer. Just so you know, that you can severaly make yourself ill thinking you have it. Things suddenly appear and you think it's because you have it. No, wait for the tests!

What you have described is a very low risk situation. HIV is extremely difficult to transit from person to person. It cannot be transmitted by casual contact, by cuddling, kissing, sharing cutlery or my shaking hands. Although it is imposable to give you an online diagnose, I can tell you that it is extremely unlike you would have contracted HIV through the circumstances you describe. You do not even know if the lady in question was HIV positive, I am sorry but you have simply jumped to the conclusion that because you did something that you now regret, then there has to be consequences to atone for your actions. This is not the case, we all do things we regret, and we all screw up,but just because we do, do not mean people contract HIV.
Please stop self examining yourself, stop looking at signs and symptoms, they mean nothing simply because at any given moment in your life, if you were to look hard enough you would find these symptoms. Although there are recognised symptoms, they are not definite.
Bottom line, you made a mistake, you believe you should have to be punished for doing so.
It is extremely unlikely you have contracted HIV, through the circumstances you describe.
Take care of yourself, if in any doubt about your HIV status, get checked out, it is almost certain you are negative. Kevin

Thanks for the response...Im not jumping the gun...more preparing myself for worst...just a mental thing...why do you see its not easy to contract from person to person? I understand the cuddling part...but in my case...I had a few open cuts and then exposed those cuts to her vaginal fluids...is this not high risk? If your saying its not thats a great relief but obviously will still get tested...thanks again .

I'm kinda in a similar thing. Sorry for graphic personal ordeal but this guy fingered me while making out so harshly I had blood dripping in small amounts but visible for 3 days. He had weird purpulish marks on his uppper back, most small some large, almost like a purple bruize but many of them. Not lesions. Now my throat acts up every so often, every time I turn my head I feel everything in there. Waiting for results.

I say it is difficult to transmit from person to person because it is. The HIV virus cannot survive outside the body hence the reason it is not transmitted by say a mosquito. Equally so when you cut yourself a protective membrane is formed which blocks infections.
For HIV to have any chance of being transmitted from one person to another direct blood to blood contact is required, obviously a blood transfusion is one of the easiest ways for this to occur, as is sharing a needle with somebody who as HIV. Prolonged unprotected sexual activity which involves the exchange of bodily fluids and blood to blood contact is considered high risk. But this risk as been calculated at being between 500 and 1000 to one for a person to contract HIV through unprotected sex.
What you have described, in all honestly would be classed as casual contact and as such is very low risk. Of course there is a risk, of course it is possible you have contracted HIV, as it is possible you will walk out onto the street and be hit by a car. I am not saying it is impossible for you to contract HIV through what you have described, I am saying it is extremely unlikely you have.A blood test is the only way to confirm your status.
I will say until you have a blood test, please stop worrying, stop examining yourself and stop freaking, it only makes matters worse. I know, my friend I have been there and I assure you my exposure was very high risk.
Take care; stop worrying and good luck Kevin.
