I'm having my 21st birthday party coming up in a week. I was wondering what I could do starting from today to look the best I can by the time my birthday comes up.

Get a haircut, shave, use some teeth whitening strips, trim your nails, buy a new outfit, get fresh cologne and figure your budget for the big night. Happy Birthday!

Congratulations! That's a milestone in your life and you have every right to be excited. I couldn't find the date of your post so I don't know if you already had the party yet but I'll post anyhow.

I seem to have events all the time both business and personal. When I have one coming up, I start my routine. I eat only fresh veggies and fruit, and a little poultry or fish, and brown rice or baked potatoes. I cut out all sugar and white flour completely. It will make you lose a few pounds so if you don't need that, add a bit more carbs. But this diet will really make a difference in your skin, hair, nails, and eyes. You'll look bright and glow all over. Your hair will be shiny and rich, and your nails stronger.

Then I start working out more to tone up, esp my arms and abs. Just to make my clothes fit better and it makes me feel more energetic too. I drink lots and lots of water! This has tenfold benefits.

I use the teethwhitening strips too. Brush and floss really well but don't start brushing vigorously in the time before. It will cause your gums to inflame and later cause them to recede which will allow plaque to build up. You'll save costly dentist bills later by using a medium toothbrush and not scrubbing hard.

Exfoliate your lips with a washcloth and then apply lots of Vaseline at night. Your lips will look full and soft and everyone will want to give you birthday kisses. Make sure your breath is perfectly sweet as people will be getting very close to you.

Don't try a new haircut right before unless you have lots of confidence and a sense of humor to pull off a bad one. Stay with your current style but just freshen it up.

Don't drink before the party as a "warm up." You'll end up drinking way too much. In fact, decline all the shots that will be offered. Many a party has been ruined for the guest of honor by getting too inebriated. You want to be there for the party, not passed out or sick.

Eat bread before the party and drink lots of water both before and during the party. For every alcoholic drink, drink one glass of water. Take a multi-vitamin before you go and eat a banana for the potassium plus it will cause the alcohol to not absorb as fast. Don't drink carbonated drinks if you can avoid them. Don't drink through a straw. Both will cause the alcohol to absorb fast.

In the morning, drink lots more water, more bananas, and take another vitamin. That will decrease the effects of the night.

In any case, the main thing is just to enjoy yourself and laugh. I hope it is/was a good one!
