Hi. I am new to this board, although I browsed around here when I was TTC w/ my daughter. I have a 2 year old and I just went of BC to try to get preggers asap. I was on BC for 10 years when I quit to have my daughter. I got pregnant the first cycle but it ended up being a phantom pregnancy, so I waited 2 long months to try again and got pregnant w/ my daughter. I stopped BC 2 days ago and got AF this a.m. I bought an OPK to use this time. I was just wondering if anyone has an opinion, Do you think I have a good chance at conceiving this time or is it likely to be a phantom pregnancy again. Not sure how often those occur with people. Thanks.

Welcome to the boards Amanda! We are currently TTC our first baby, so I really have no experience with phantom pregnancies....(or know what they are). But I am sending you lot's of baby dust and hope you get your BFP very soon!:)

Thanks! Lots of baby dust to you as well:)
A phantom pregnancy is when you miss your period and you may get a faint line on a pregnancy test and go to the dr and they check your blood levels; mine were there, but very low meaning the sperm and egg got together, but didn't implant into the wall and so then I had a heavy period and passed it. It isn't a miscarriage and my dr said it happens to a lot of people(up to 30%) that don't even know it. They just start their period a day late or so and may not even test positive and never even know. Its not a miscarriage technically, but it sure does suck to get your BFP or faint positive for nothing. Good luck to you though. I'm sure you will be preggers in no time.
