My doctor has given me the choice of having one or both tonsils removed. My left tonsil has to go because it is large and hard. I also have had a sore throat for over a year. My first thought was to leave the right tonsil since it has not been infected or caused any problems but what if the left tonsil has precancerous tissue or even worse cancer? Will that mean another operation? If any one out there has any opinions I would appreciate them. I am having my pre-op appointment on Monday and surgery on Tuesday, so I have to make up my mind.....
