My sister's 2 month old daughter is 100% breast fed. She was taking the bottle in the first month. Sh ehas been totally refusing the bottle from the last month. My sister has never given formula; it is always expressed breat milk. She has been trying the Avent bottle.

Any suggestions of getting the baby to drink from the bottle. Exclusive breast feeding is very difficult with absolute no mobility for the new mother or any free time.

This is very stressful and difficult for her. Your suggestions will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

I don't have any advice but just wanted to say that your sister is not alone in this. DS used to suck on just about anything you stuck in his mouth. when he was 2.5 or 3 months old he started to refuse his bottle and only wanted breast. The first time he did this I was gone for the day and he was with my MIL. He begrudgingly ate 1.5oz while he was with her and has not looked at a bottle since. We have tried different kinds of bottles but he refuses them all. For a while we tried to give him one bottle per day but he always refused and it only resulted in a lot of wasted milk. I have also tried feeding him with a dropper but he was just as stubborn about that.

He's 4 months old now and I am starting to think about trying a sippy cup. It would be nice to be able to leave for more than a few hours at a time and not have to worry.
