Hi all,
I think I might have spoken too soon (and jinxed) myself about the side effects but I'm not sure.... I know they can cause flu like symptoms and depression,yadayada.... but I had the WORST abdominal pain in my life yesterday and it lasted for about 3 hours straight with a mild fever.... it was so intense that I had to leave my job and I've never left before for being sick.... I was hunched over almost in a fetal position while trying to stand upright... Has anyone else experienced this before on Rebif or is this just something else.... I went to the ER because I was in sooo much pain, but ended up signing myself out since the pain spontaneously subsided. Is it even possible to have side effects 2 days after the initial injection??? I was fine up until yesterday and I took my first dose wednesday evening.... thanks for listening...

Tara, abdominal pain isnt usually a side effect of Rebif, especially with you being on such a low dose at this time, but anything is possible..I know youre probably NOT looking forward to your next injection, but I would do it anyway and be prepared to see what happens...the other thing with Rebif, is it usually only starts about 3 hours after the injection and doesnt last more than 4-6 hours...so, having abdominal pains the next day would be highly unusual...
Make sure you are really hydrating on shot days...extra water in you, as much as you can get in you...and do take one aleve 1/2 hour before injection...that should do you- but if an hour or two later, you start feeling really shakey or feverish, you can take another Aleve..
Talk to your doctor if this happens again...and I am willing to bet its not related, but you never know...
hang in there buddy- it gets easier!
