Hi guys,
I am new to the message board and must say it has been a great source of information.
Over the past 6 months I have been progressively feeling worse with the below symptoms. It started out of the blue when I was driving, all of a sudden I had tunnel vision and felt very lightheaded and as though I was going to choke.

I don’t have all of the symptoms all of the time – the aches and pains around the top of my spine, back & neck are pretty constant and the others (light headed, tunnel vision) happen occasionally, they are much worse if I have drunk alcohol.

I have been to the Doctors and he prescribed me something to relax my neck/shoulder area, I don’t feel any better and will be going back next week. I have also been doing my own research and MS comes up often. Has anybody suffered from anything similar??

Sharp, shooting pain at the top of my spine
Neck pain (worse in the morning)
Tightness of head, specifically around the base of my scalp and around the temples
Dizziness & light headedness (feeling as though I am about to choke, even without anything in my mouth)
Blurry & Tunnel vision
Strange grinding sound when I move my head
Occasional anxiety (this appears without warning)
Any advice or help would be gratefully received.

I would see an eye doctor to begin my questions and investigations. If your doctor prescribed medicine, under what condition did he prescribe it? (what was the diagnosis?) Was a MRI ordered? I would ask the doctor if he thought it was MS. This could prompt the doctor to refer you to a neurologist or to order testing for you. The more you ask your doctor, the more responses you should get. I have never had tunnel vision.

I had the 'tunnel' vision occur in 1 eye. As for what you've described, it could be MS... MS can produce many, many different symptoms. It may also be migraine however. Seek answers with doctors, and get the necessary tests done to get your answers :).

Hi, mhuk, and welcome.

Your sx don't wreak specifically of MS to me but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not. It sounds like a good place to start would be to have an MRI of your brain (with and without contrast) and most ideally, to also include your c-spine and since you're having problems with your eyes, the orbits as well. That's where I'd recommend starting, or more specifically, seeing a doctor with that goal in mind.
