View Full Version : Numbness below ribcage

I've been suffering from various digestive difficulties, including heartburn, bloating and constipation. Recently I noticed that the part of my skin covering the area right in the middle of my chest and blow the ribcage (and slightly more to the left) is completely numb and tingly to touch. Mind you, this only happens if my stomach is overly full, but it's still very disturbing.

I've been reading about gastroparesis (delayed stomach emptying) and it seems to match a lot of my symptoms; however, this type of numbness is not mentioned anywhere. I have a similar type of sensations in a few areas around my spine, which have been caused by very tight muscles pulling the spinal cord to one side and pinching the nerve(s) in that area. Could it be that the same type of nerve damage is possible in the front as well??

What bothers me most is that I can't find anything online on this condition.

Ideas???

Thanks.
