My son is nearsighted with astigmatism. Machine used as baseline gave a reading of approximately 20/100 in each eye. In office tests were "inconsistent" and "probably caused by over focusing which kids OFTEN do." So we get dilation drops put in. No difference - still inconsistent results. Optomotrist checks eye with photo - no visible problems. Asks us to come back in a few days for a retest for consistency.
WHY would this happen? I've been nearsighed/astig. since a teen and I never needed dilation eye drops and I never had anyone tell me that my results were inconsistent.
any ideas what would cause this?
