About a month a go I had a cold and after my cold I had pain in my ear and I went to the doctor and he said I had a ear infection and gave me antibiotic's
My ear got better then about two weeks later I started having a electricity like shooting pain in my ear about once a day and then it got more common coming about three times a day. Then one day when I got up my ears felt like they were clogged and I keep wanting to yawn to clear it up and get rid of the pressure.I went back to the doctor and he said I did not have an infection but some congestion in there and put me back on antibiotics to see if that helped. It did not help and after about four days after I went of the antibiotics I started having pain in my ear of about an hour then it would go a way and come back about an hour later.I have also noticed that when I barely move my jaw back and forth it pops and my ear pops all the time now and the aria around the bad ear hurts if I press on it hard.I should also say that I have had lower back pain for about two months.I also had a headache today on the aria that is sore to the touch. All most every time I move my jaw side ways it makes popping noise and thats what makes me think this is TMJ.Oh I forgot to say that today I felt like I had a sore throat but I had no pain just felt kind of dry.
Please help.

Have you seen anyone for this? It sounds like possible TMJ but you also might have a problem with Eustachian tubes, sometimes you can have Eustachian tube dysfunction for awhile after a bad infection. That pain you describe could be either one.

The only person I have seen is my local doctor and he just said he wanted to try antibiotics and see if that helps but now I am have a sore throat like pain all the time.I am planing to go to the doctor again soon.Is there a way to tell if it is a problem with Eustachian tubes or tmj and if it is the Eustachian tubes will it go away on its own?Oh and my tongue is halve numb on the side that is having all the problems.Would that be a symptom of tmj or Eustachian tube dysfunction or both? Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Go to a dentist and have him send you out for a mri or film of your jaw joint you have to find out what is happening inside the joint.
If you are near a local university call their dental department and ask for a TMJ doctor they will have one. Or a good orthodontist in your area try to find out who the best one is. They will take a film and get a night guard so you don't clench at night. Remember the xray is the most important diagnostic tool how else can they tell what is going on in your joint. I have had this problem for 8 years and have lots of knowledge at this point finally it is managable, most cases are different but all need an xray...
Good luck to you!!!!
