Just had gall bladder removed (lapro) 2 weeks ago. Wonder if anyone experienced occasional spasms in stomach. After eating some spare ribs, I stood up and felt quick jolt to stomach. Really weird. Not suffering from the usual symptons. How long does it take to feel normal??

Wow! you really gave it the supreme test via spare ribs. After your gallbladder is removed, you no longer have stored bile to digest fats. The body needs time to adjust. Bile will drip into the digestive system in various amounts, most likely not enough to digest a high fat meal.
When there is not enough bile to digest fats, bacteria in the digestive system will digest the fat and this takes much longer probably creating bloating and more gas.
Best to avoid fats for a while and allow your body to make necessary adjustment then gradually introduce fats back into your diet.
I just had gallbladder surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago and still introducing foods back into my diet.
Your body needs time to heal.

It doesnt matter how slow you introduce fats back into your diet or any other food since your body has no place to store the bile its never going to act the same I had my gallbladder removed 8 years ago and still have what they call the dumping syndrome where as soon as I eat a heavy meal I have to run to the bathroom because I have no place to store the bile.. I have tried everything drs recommend to cure it and it doesnt work.. I hope you dont get that.
Hi,
My grandmother now takes biles salts that you can buy at your health store and she is doing great. She suffered for many years after having her gall bladder removed and when she found bile salts she has not had an attack since.
Hope that helps. I too am going for an ultrasound of the gall bladder on May 5th, so I may be taking them too.

Took me almost 5 months before feeling normal. I'm reading lots of people take months to get better. I got WAY worse after the removal and then finally got better. I still eat low far and I'm 5.5 months out.
