I was just in the hospital for 6 days due to my gallbladder. The day before I had my attack I found out I was pregnant. They want to wait to do surgery until I am after 12 weeks. Has anyone had any experience with this. I am a little nervous (well a lot really). My OBGYN said that I should have the surgery if needed. The surgeon says that they do it all the time in pregnant woman.
Right now the pain is gone and I am on a fat free diet, which I hate. But will stick with it if need be. The stones were found during a ct scan (back in Jan) I had to look at a kidney stone. I have since had ultra sounds on them as well.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Amy,

Not sure I can help, but I am 38 weeks pregnant and was diagnosed with gallstones a few weeks ago. I have been having constant attacks every other day for a few hours. My doctor is recommending surgery after the birth of the child to remove the bladder but I am concerned of getting the bladder out due to the tons of side affects that have been noticed like bloating, diahrae, gaining weight etc...

If you are planning on taking the bladder out, and do the surgery. If the doctor can do it now and not have you go through the whole pregnancy with gallstones it will be better. It really hurts when the baby is kicking your stones...:(

Good luck with your pregnancy and hope you feel good.
