i went and had a deva curl cut a few weeks ago and i got roped into buying their shampoo and conditioner. as we all know, hair products from the salon aren't cheap. i paid $18/bottle. for those who don't know, deva curl has a method where the products do not lather because they don't contain..sulfates..i think and you also don't "shampoo" your hair every day, you "cleanse" one or two times a week and condition every day.
my problem is i have already gone through a whole bottle of conditioner in less than a month and i really, really don't want to pay $18 every few weeks for this product. does anyone know an alternative to the deva curl products that maybe don't have sulfates in them? i'm really tempted to just go back to my shampoo and conditioner i was using before, but the hair dresser said my hair was kind of dry. but it's possible she was just saying that...
any ideas and recommendationis would be awesome!! especially if it still makes my hair look nice and doesn't kill my wallet. :)

Salon products can be a bit expensive but I wonder if maybe you weren't using too much product each time? My stylist told me to use a nickel-sized amount each time to avoid weighing my hair down and to only use it from mid-section on down. If my scalp gets dry (it doesn't), then to use a monthly scalp treatment.
But you can look for drugstore brands that don't have Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in the ingredients. A lot of companies are producing green products so this is a good time to look.
