Almost five years ago I started suffering from headaches, was told it was stress and sent away with some painkillers. After a year of going to the doctors every month to complain I went for a routine scan to check whetehr my epilepsy was completely gone by looking for focal points for it. The scan showed that I had Arnold Chiari Malformation Type 1 - a malformation of the brain meaning that part of my brain was slipping down my spinal passage. A whole year later they eventually got round to operating on it (after successfully ruining my education). The operation was complete success and despite a rocky six months to start with I nwas then pain free for 18 months. Then the headaches started again. I ahd been warned the operation may not be successful so naturally assumed it was the same thing but scan showed that its not. After some monitoring of the pressure in my skull, another MRI and three doctors I know nothing except what it is not (which isn't as reasuring as it sounds).
The pain is this time mainly in my left temple and the back of my head with the most severe pain exclusively in my left temple. I've also had a slowly progressive loss of sensation/dexterity down the left side of my body, a loss of depth perception (so far only at some distance, I watched a car drive through a man the other day, very confusing), lethargy, confusion of words, a painful tingling in my eyes and difficulty swallowing.
Does anybody have a clue what could be wrong with me???
