My father has an allergy to Balsam of Peru. Is anyone out there with the same problem? He's in really bad shape trying to figure out what to eat and what products he can use. Is itching all the time. Would love any information.

I was interesteds to read about your father. I was diagnosed with a B of P allergy 18 months ago and still struggle to find products which are clear, and to stay away from strong perfumes etc. Best I have found is cortisone ointment (not cream) and when I get a clear spell after showering I apply pure light olive oil (cooking) as it has not additives. Herbal shampoo and pure sorbolene soap. We live in Australia, if you cannot get it there I would be happy to send you some for a trial. Good Luck anyway.... Linda

I was reading about this on the net actually, it caused me some concern since it's used in quite a few dental products. It's quite a common addictive as well

I assume he got a patch test?
