Wondering if any of you take potassium supplements for better bone density... supposed to help body be more alkaline. If so, would like your feedback and amount taken per day. I thought Sona wrote a while back that she took it so Sona if you are chiming in .. appreciate your input as well!!

Hey Canna, how are you! I read the same thing, and have been taking 1 tablet (99mg) a day for about 6 months now. We always have potassium around anyway because my husband was told to take 1 a day as he's on high BP medication and this supposedly depletes potassium. My naturopath knows I'm taking it and seems to think it's fine. We also take 1 selenium every day; don't know if it helps BMD but apparently most soils are depleted of this mineral so we no longer get enough in our diets.

There's a list of "alkalinizing" foods out there but I've never bothered to follow it...I figure if I even remember to take all my vitamins and supplements I'm doing well:D.

Hi Canna, good to see you back. I don't take potassium supplements but i do eat at least one banana sometimes more, i love them smeared with peanut butter. If you don't want to take another supplement there are plenty of foods that have have high potassium. Do a search for high potassium foods you'll get quite a list of choices. I think if we tried to take every supplement that is said to be good for the bones we'd be popping pills all day. take care...phyllis

Hey Starfish.. that's what I am on 99 mg a day... good point if we manage our vitamins/minerals we're doing ok... I am trying to convince my sister to use some healthful supplements and it seems that she is listening.

Phywill.... I love bananas and peanut butter so that will be an easy one for me.. hope all is well with you

Winston... Wow! I never knew about the tomato juice either so thanks will try that too
Take care all!
