Would be extremely grateful for assistance or recommendation in the search for a caring and knowledgable Hepatologist or Gastroenterologist,as I have little faith in my current G.I..I also have a hematolgist that's been treating my hemochromatosis & porphyria c.t. but he admits lack of current knowledge and sent me to one I'm uncomfortable with.I'm going for a transplant evaluation in near future,so does anyone have informed input when U.V.A. or M.C.V.are presented as main choices.Don't know if I was clear or not ,but I will still need a direction to go in for selecting a specialist.I reside in s.eastern part of state. Please help. Thanks a bunch!

If you are going to MCV I would suggest you contact the Hepatology and Transplant section. It is headed by Mitchell Shiffman. I have been a patient of his and am now virus negative for 4 years.
