View Full Version : Blood clot discharged in breast milk

Hi, I had pre-eclampsia/HELLP syndrome and delivered at 32 weeks (healthy boy). Since then I have been diagnosed with antiphospholipid -lupus coagulant syndrome (not sure if I am spelling that correctly). I have been to a specialist who does not believe that I have lupus (thankfully!). About 2 weeks ago I noticed a few drops of blood in the breast milk I was pumping. I saw a breast specialist who said he didn't think it was cancer since he could not express blood manually. Today I was pumping breast milk again, and a HUGE blood clot came out. After that milk was clear. Does this sound like it could be related to the anti-lupus coagulant syndrome, or something separate? I will call the breast specialist on Monday (he did say to call if there was more regular spotting?) Thanks for any advice...
