I have been tested for hepatitis c 6 times in the past 3 years and 4 have come back negative and 2 were positive. I then went to a liver specialist who sent me to have a liver biopsy done.When I went in for my last visit he told me that I was positive for the antibodies and that the test was negative for the gynotypes. He then told me that I must have came in contact with the virus but my body cured itself. I went on thinkin this for the last 3 yrs. I just had another test done and the dr. told me the antibodies test for hep c came back positive and wondered if I had any testing done for this. When I told her about the biopsy she asked me to get the records. When I picked them up thats when I started to get really confused: on the results page it say pathological diagnosis under is a bunch of #s - liver biopsy, then under that it say chronic hep c mild activity mild fibrosis in ( )s it says(grade 1 stage 1) see comment.......then in the comment it say 1 non-caseating epithelioid granuloma is identified.strains for acid-fast bacilli (afs) and fungus (gms) are all negative.work up for etiology is suggested.such as antimitochondrial antibodies.positive controls are adequate.
This is so confusing to me because he told me not to worry all I have is antibodies and I did not need to anything further because I did not have the virus.
After recieving copies of the report I of corse called but was told not worry if I had anything he would of talked about it then.
But it sure seems like something when I see the report so I was wondering if anyone could explain the report to me...please please im so confused and worried....

I have no idea. Hopefully someone who does will reply, but it seems to me that a good doctor should be able to explain it to you
