Hi, this might be a stupid question but here it goes. I've been doing like 50 sit ups a day, and I know that's not a ton, but I'm trying to get rid of my "sad face" belly button shape. Ya know what I mean? Sad face shape..anyway... I want it to just be a normal circular belly button!
I'm 5'5'', 120lbs... So I will keep trying sit ups? Is that the right thing to do? I know this is ridiculous but my belly button bothers me.
Thanks for reading.

Hi there... doing sit-ups most likely won't change the shape of your belly button. The only way would be to get surgery to change this. Of course tightening up your stomach or vice versa can slightly change how it looks depening on how tight the skin in the area looks, but it won't be drastic.

I wasn't really happy with this area on me (not my belly button, but the stomach part around it), so I got a piercing and now I just think it looks better w ith something cute and pretty there.

Doing sit ups will only do abs, there is also you "twists" and other movements in that area that might help :)

Are you talking about your actual belly button or your stomach? Like TurRrRa said, only surgery can change the appearance of your belly button. If you want to flatten your stomach you should do abs 2-3 times per week. Your muscles need rest in between in order to repair. Also, doing just sit ups won't do much to shape your ab muscles. You need to vary the types of sit ups and crunches that you to do see results. Your muscles get used to doing certain exercises and then they're not as effective. If you try multiple types of crunches and add in new ones each time you work your abs, then you'll see results after a few weeks/months.
