i,
My daughter is 6 and a half months old. She is exclusively breastfed and is gaining weight very well. She is 7.5kgs. During the day she is a happy baby who sleeps twice a day for about an hour each, rarely cries and eats 3 solid meals a day of fruit and vegetables such as apple, pear, sweet potato, carrot. I started solids 3 weeks ago. She eats about 6 cubes of homemade pureed food with a breastfed after each meal. She has never slept thru even before solids. Her usual routine is last feed at 730/8, awake at 1130/1200, 0300 and 0530. I try not to feed her at every wake but its the only way I can get her to sleep. The last two nights she has being waking an average of every 90 minutes with what seems like wind pain. She cries bitterly and squirms for over a half hour. She draws up her knees. She falls asleep on my shoulder and wakes every few mins squirming and wakes when I put her in the cot or bed. I have taken to cosleeping as I am exhausted. I also have a 3 year old daughter. She has two teeth. I dont think its teething pain, maybe a habit of waking . I watch my diet, stay off windy foods etc. Anyone have any advice? I am totally wrecked..

Our first baby had the same problem. Finally it was discovered that she was allergic to wheat.
Wheat was in all kinds of baby foods and I ate wheat foods.
This may be your daughter's problem.
It took 6-weeks for wheat to get out of our baby's system.

Thanks for your advice. How old was ur baby and when can they be tested?
Was he/she windy day and night and at what age did it start?
Regards,

Oh my, that was years ago and my memory is not that great now. Problem began when she went onto solid foods (baby food). Took a long time to find what was causing the problems.
The peditrician did not want to test a baby that young, so, it was a process of elemination. Omitted all foods except carrots. After a period of time if there was no reaction, then added another food. Continued doing this until the guilty food/foods were discovered.
I belive if you omit all foods containing wheat, gluten, eggs, you will soon find the offending foods.
It takes 6-weeks for wheat to leave the system, so, do not introduce another food until 6-weeks after having wheat reaction.
If no reaction to a food for a few days, try another food, so on. If reaction, wait for 6-weeks before trying another one.
Being breast fed, you will need to omit wheat, gluten, eggs from your diet too. I would try those things first.
