Apology to the mods. I'll paraphrase what they deleted.

A paper presented this year at the American Academy of Orthopedics suggests that carpal tunnel syndrome may be a genetic problem and not an overuse problem. They don't know exactly what genetics but they think it may be related to structure of the hand and wrist. These guys feel that there's a weak link to actual use of the hands.

Interesting to say the least........

Hi Cag,
It Not Possible That All Of Us Are Born With This Genetic Problem
There Are Way Too Many People With C/t. I Hope They Are Not Going To Waste My Tax Dollars To Tell Me I Was Born This Way.
I Feel It Comes On From Strenuously Using Your Hands In The Same Repeitive Motion Day In And Day Out.
I Never Had Pain Till I Started Using My Hands In An Un-natural Way For 5 Yrs .
I Think These So Called Doctors And Researhers Are Working For The Ins. Companies And This Is Just Another Way To Screw The Poor Working Class Out Of Proper Medical Care And Benefits.

Thats What I Think And Feel Very Strongly About.

I agree that it's not likely an all or nothing situation. In my case my father had it, my brother has it, and I have it. For me it makes sense mostly because when I was diagnosed I was told my left hand was worse than my right... and I'm a righty. It really surprised me because I didn't even realize my left hand was bad because I don't use it much. I had both released in 2001 by a scope procedure.

BTW..... at the time I tried to file for WC and was turned down because I've been on the pill for so long. IE.... if your a woman it must be hormonal.

Hi Cag, What A Crock, It Is Not Hormonal And I Dont Think A Pill Can Cause Ct. I Would File An Appeal.
They Told Me The Same About The Hormones And Also They Thuoght I Had Arthitis Which I Was Tested So They Could Not Cop Out On My Claim. Have Your Dr, Tell Them It Is Work Related .
The Comp Board Will Do Anything Not To Pay A Claim.
Plus I Never Heard Of Getting C/t For Birth Control Pills.
Good Luck And Dont Be Afraid Tospeak Your Mind... Get An Atty!!!!!
