I've just got a print out of my ct scan results,
I thought someone on here can explain it to me.
And if it would be causing me the vision problems I've been having. (left eye)

Findings.
Both frontal & spenhoid & ethmoid sinuses clear. Osteometal complexes are patent. There is mile mucocal thickening in the alveclar recess of both maxillary artra. Approximately, 10mm retention cyst is seen in the medial wall of the right maxillary antrum.
Mucosal thickening is seen on the left nasaolacrimnal sac in comparision to the right.
Nasal septa appear to be normal.
Mild mucosal thickening is seen in the left sphenoid sinus.

I'm a bit confused as it says they are clear then it says thickening?
Can they treat this without an op?

Overall that's a pretty good CT report. All of your sinuses are clear (open) but there is some mucosal thickening in a few places, which is not unusual.

If you had moderate or severe mucosal thickening it would be something to be concerned about but things like allergies, a virus, or other irritants can cause mild mucosal thickening. Your doctor might recommend a steroid nasal spray if he/she is concerned about the thickening, but that report sounds pretty good.

The "mild thickening" is of some concern, but your ENT will examine the CT scan himself to determine exactly where it is and how bad....Simple surgery can rid it....Just have to wait and see what the ENT says.

More concerning to me is the development of a cyst. These are the result of either allergies or an infection that wasn't treated properly and the body encapsulated it. Depending on where the cyst is, it may need to be removed endoscopically. Once a person gets one cyst, it's not unusual to develop others. Allergies is the main cause, thus, the reason for multiple cysts. I had over 25...Ranging in all sorts of sizes.

I wouldn't get too worked up until the ENT can give you a complete analysis of his findings.

Good luck.

Hi Ex,
What I'm more concerned about it the vision decrease in the eye that is affected, my other eye is lazy so I rely on this one thats playing up.

I have a constant swelling feeling in the corner of my eye near the blob and wondered if this can put any pressure on the eye, as thats where I'm having the vision problem towards the middle near my nose.

I don't know what I'm going to do if I have lost vision in that eye also.
