I mentioned how difficult taking my Mom out in the world has become. Well, about 6 months ago I found a thrift store and it's been a blessing! There's only one door in/out. There's a restroom in the event of emergency. They have a bit of everything. Clothes, books, glassware, dolls/stuff animals. And if there's donated furniture I have a place to sit. Mom doesn't have to have me right at her elbow as it's a fairly small store so I can easily keep an eye on where she is. I discretely tipped a couple of the regular clerks off too just to be on the safe side. She doesn't seem to mind it's used items. I don't know if she even understands that at this point. And with money tight, she can find a couple of things each week and it's in my budget.
This place has been great. We've been there so often she's familiar with the place once we get there. It gets her out and she seems to enjoy herself. The big stores just are not possible anymore.
