Hey Ladies,
It's almost been a week since my cone biopsy...the anticipation and anxiety, are getting increasingly worse, although no matter what the outcome is, I know I'll have to deal with it one way or the other. My question to you all is: My next doctors appointment is May 12, I had my biopsy on April 22nd, does it really take that long to get the results? I can't remember what the doctor said. Also, if they come in earlier than the almost 3 weeks I have to wait, if its something bad will they wait to contact me until my appointment May 12, or will they call me right away....seems like they would call, but I don't really know about that either.

Thanks for answering in advance, I could call the doctor, but I've really been enjoying the "doctor-free" environment, and occasionally get the "willies" about it, like now. Otherwise, I try not to think about it, at least for now anyway.

Also, I have some clear, watery discharge which I'm assuming is from the cone biopsy it has a mild odor. Is this normal? Sould I be concerned?

Firstly thank you for you message in other post thread. I probably can't really help you in answering your question properly as I think things are a little differently done here is Aus. But in saying that, I waited one week to go back for my results of my biopsy in all cases.
As for the watery discharge, I would say that it is relatively normal, plus the odour is as well. I would only be getting concerned at a later date and if the odour became really offensive. (May indicate infection) At this point i wouldn't worry.
I'm sure you will get some clearer answers from some of the other ladies.:)

Hi there! In my opinion most tests I've had haven't taken as long as they've said. For example, I was told my colposcopy results would take a week so I waited a week. Then I asked for a copy of my pathology results. It showed they rec'd/ logged the specimen in the next day and faxed the results to the office the next day so we're talking 2-3 days. I think the extra time is "office time" meaning they get the results, the dr has to review & sign off, recording and then calling/ scheduling follow up. So I wouldn't hesitate to call if you want to know. It puts you on their radar. As they say "the squeaky wheel gets the oil" ;) That said, i've only had a colpo so perhaps its different for other procedures.

I had my cold knife cone on April 4th. I called the doctor's office on April 11th to get the results (1 week later). My follow up appointment was for the 18th (2 weeks post cone, 1 week after I got my results by phone).

I also had a water discharge for about 2 weeks. It finally cleared up.
