Think I'll be attending either of these events?
Group going to a local farm (may not be the cleanest environment for my foot)
How about a winery?

You can wrap your foot in extra bandages and use a surgical shoe or the boot (if they send one home with you.) It shouldn't be a problem. I'd be more concerned about physically getting around a farm or winery. On top of that, 2 days post I don't think you'll feel up to it...but everyone is different. I certainly did not have the "get-up-and-go" energy to get up and go 2 days post op. You may be on lots of pain meds which usually make people kind of floopy anyway....but I could be wrong.

I'm assuming you won't be needing crutches for your surgery? Even so, 2 days is verrrry soon to be walking around at places like that. You really should be resting, elevating and icing the first week to prevent any complications. I would only suggest going if you can sit and elevate your foot 90+% of the time.

I didn't do anything for the first week other than ice and elevate. My doctor had told me that the more you do that then the better the chances of not over-swelling the foot and causing a lot of pain. When I went back for my one week checkup she was very impressed at how little swelling I had. I continued the icing and elevation for another week solid after that. I had very little pain other than the incision and random nerve pain. So, staying off my feet was a good thing.

I cannot imagine going anywhere 2 days post!.. I could barely get to the bathroom without pain.. Not the best idea.. I think docs minimize how quickly you will get up and around.. although some people do heal quickly and do better than others - two days is a bit early..
