Can anyone help? I have been successfully on dilantin for longer that 40 years. I understand one of its effects is "coarsening of the face". I have good genes, and now, feel I look much older than my age. I have taken good care of my skin, and wonder if there is anything else I could add to my regimen. Thanks

Well, I havent been on dilantin for quite as long as you have (35 yrs) but I do know that there are some things that I have to do now that I didnt before. First, I have to wash my face daily. Second, I have to use an anti-wrinkle cream. Other than that, I wish I could be of more help. I, too, look older than my age, but excessive exposure to the sun caused that.

I wasnt aware of the ageing aspect of the drug but I am glad I have heard of it. My main thing is that my gums have swollen rather drastically. When i was real young the sasme thing happened and so I was switched to other meds but the seizures just kept happening. Anyone have any experience with damage to their kidneys from Dilantin?

I have sun damage to my face as well. Is there anything that can be done to make my skin look better?
