View Full Version : Could bleeding from the ears be related to diabetes??

My father was diagnosed with diabetes around 5 years ago now. It has been an uphill battle and he gives himself insulin injections three times daily as well as takes pills-blood thinners, (high) blood pressure, heart, etc... about 7 a day total for all his ailments brought on by his diabetes. Now he has been bleeding from his ears but is too stubborn to go to the doctors for a proper diagnosis. We are all very worried and wondering if this is a side effect of his diabetes or something not related at all... he is not around any loud noises or anything that would cause his ears to be damaged like that and his hearing has been fine. This started a few weeks ago. If anyone has any suggestions I woudl really appreciate it as I am extremely worried about him. Thanks:(

The only thing I can think of is that he has some sort of severe ear infecction, perhaps brought on by chronic high blood sugar. I'm sorry, but he has to go to the doctor to get treatment.
