Does anyone know if you can suspect either an ulcer versus gastritis from symptoms alone?

Most people need a medical evaluation to determine the problem? WarGerbil 05-01-2008, 10:23 AM My understanding is that ulcers cause gastritis but not all gastritis is caused by ulcers. Harry 05-01-2008, 11:27 AM About 85% of ulcers are caused by H pylori bacteria the other ulcers are caused by irritatational type medication like nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs even asprin and other things that are stomach irritants. Gastritis is an inflammation of the stomach lining and can be caused by many things and some does cause ulcers. |
