View Full Version : Beautiful Lashes - 3 step how to

Im not sure if it has been posted already but this is how I get my weak thin short lashes to look long and beautiful.

First, I use Baby Oil (very cheap) as my makeup remover. It works well on Waterproof mascara as well. This softens and moisturizes the lashes. If doing this before applying makeup make sure to completely remove all the baby oil with another cleanser and warm water.

I then heat up my metal eyelash curler itself, with a blowdryer for about 10 seconds. It gets VERY HOT! Let it cool for a few seconds before using. I test it on my arm or cheek first. While its still warm-hot I curl my lashes as close to the base of my lids as possible. Hold for 30 seconds. Lashes should be lifted and curled. Mine stay almost all day.

Next, I use what I believe to be the best drugstore brand mascara. Maybelline Full n Soft Waterproof. Apparently some of you do too because it's always out of stock! Its the only mascara I use, unless I splurge for lancomb or something. I lightly coat the ENDS of the lashes first then repeat with a second light coat from base to tip. As well as do a very light coat on the bottom lashes.

Once you get this down, your eyes should POP! I have small eyes and short thin blonde lashes and this routine works for me and really doesn't take long!
I hope it works for you too. ;)

xoxo

I love Full N Soft mascara! That one and Rimmel Lycra Lash Extender mascaras are the ONLY two I've tried that don't get any flakes all day. The Rimmel one makes my eyelashes a bit longer, so I use that one more often, but both are great choices and don't get clumpy even when putting on 3 coat for an evening out and touching up throughout the day! I've used expensive brands like Chanel and it looked wonderful, but I would get tiny little flakes that would get into my eyes.

I still haven't tried the heating up the eyelash curler trick, but I'll definitely have to try it. I curl my lashes after my mascara dries because curling them before never gets them to stay curled, but I'll try the dryer trick!

Yes! I love full and soft! Ithought they stopped making it and then I was at Target and I was like"ooh there it is,they do still make it!" I bought a tweezerman eyelash curler at Sally's, it's plastic and it actually tells you to heat it with a blow dryer a few seconds. It doesn't get hot hot like a metal one which can almost burn you if you touch your eyelids with it, please be careful...

Thank you so much for posting this!!! I am obsessed with trying to get my lashes to look more full. I have blonde pale and sparse lashes too. I will definitely be out looking for the mascara today and trying your tips. Thanks again!
