Has anyone had any weight side effects with Buspar at all, either gain or lose or loss or heighting of appetite?

When my anxiety gets really bad I tend to lose weight. Last time I lost 10lbs in one week. After I started on buspar I gained it back but nothing else. It has worked great for me. Godbless

Great question. I have lost my appetite along with other symptoms, think its anxiety and just started last week on low dose 5 mg twice a day buspar.

I lost about 20 pounds in last 2-3 months. I did not want to lose that much that quickly, but anxiety or whatever I have did it. I am hoping the buspar will help with appetite and internal shakes. So far not much has happened, but its early for me. Only side effect so far is not sleeping well.

SillyMe....The one and only side effect I have from buspar is that I get naseous for about 10 minutes right after I take it. Otherwise it's a godsent! I think any other side effects you feel will go away after you are on it for a few weeks. I am sure the weight loss for you was from being anxious, but once the medication sets in, you'll be better! I hope :)

I started at 15mg twice a day and saw improvement by day 4. Maybe your dose is not high enough. Godbless
