View Full Version : Seems like Mom has had a fairly good day today

Of course, you all know that can change any moment. I am learning that. Hopefully it will last, and I can get to bed at a decent hour tonight. We'll just have to see. I think next week may be hard, as we will have workmen in the house for 3 days and all will be sort of chaotic. Having all the carpet taken up and new floors put in. Our carpet is in such bad shape, I don't think it is safe for her. I am having them do her room first so she is out of her little "nest" for as short a time as possible. Just thought that would be a good idea. I am going to try and take Tuesday off (the first day) so I am here with her as well as her caregiver. They really get along well which takes a load off me while my hubby and I are at work. Gotta run, sounds like she is about thru eating her dinner. Spend some time with her in her "nest". All you guys take care. Talk later.
Love, Susie

Susie,
Wonderful news about your Mom! I had one yesterday with my DH and today about half as good. Each day brings something different and I'm up for the challenge. I've taken this week off of work to be home with DH and I'm exhausted but Hospice is really stepping up with aides and my sister is coming in from Chicago tomorrow afternoon for 5 days so that should be a huge help. Have a great weekend...

Susie,

WHat a good idea, Susie. I think that you need to be prepared for a meltdown or two with the uproar. Have some additional meds on hand just in case your mom can't handle the uproaor with the workmen. Having her room done first is wise. Then you can just move her back in and shut the door and hope that she won't worry too much. Perhaps her caregiver can go on a walk with her to help break the day up...

But how exciting. I love new flooring-and we are due-for the entire house also, but with two large dogs and one small schnauzer it's a losing battle of dirt and mud. Oh well!

Glad you had a good day! Hope you have few more.
